Meeting between Leaders of Affiliated Regions

On November 11, 2010, representatives of four out of seven regions affiliated with Hokkaido gathered in Sapporo, Hokkaido. The occasion was marked by an international meeting involving representatives of Alberta (Canada), Heilongjiang (China), Sakhalin (Russia), Gyeongsangnam-do (South Korea), and Hokkaido (Japan).

Under the theme of sustainable development, a joint statement was adopted by representatives who discussed ways to strengthen relationships between the regions in order to find ways to resolve shared problems.

Hokkaido is looking forward to even greater synergies while also being at the core of future exchanges between, and prosperity of, each of the regions.
