Taku was startled. It reminded him of his bicycle that he had left in front of the station in his town.
"I remember one day, a blind old woman was walking along on the raised paving blocks used for blind people and using a white walking stick to look for obstacles in her way. But, a bicycle was on the raised blocks and she lost her way. The old man we just met was resting on a bench and when he saw her, he took her by the hand to the station. From that time on, he is always lining up the bicycles in front of the station. Now, thanks to him, I can pass with the wheelchair without problems."
"I also left my bicycle without thinking. I didn't know it could cause this much trouble for others."
Taku regretted what he had done.
He couldn't forget the kind face of that man, and how hard he was working.

Raised paving blocks

Raised paving blocks are divided into two types. One is for guiding the blind or people with poor eyesight (left figure), and the other is for calling their attention to something, like the end of a street(right figure).
You can make sure you are going in the right direction by feeling the blocks with the soles of your feet. It would be interesting to know how raised paving blocks are used in your city.
