Results of radiation sampling surveys carried out on rice straw produced in Hokkaido

○ Currently, radioactive substances are being detected in distributed rice straw produced in the Tohoku and Kanto regions.  As a result, the Hokkaido government is carrying out surveys on the use of rice straw in Hokkaido, while implementing sample surveys on rice straw produced in Hokkaido, as a precautionary measure.

○ In the radiation sampling surveys on Hokkaido-produced rice straw taken from four sites in Hokkaido, no radioactive substances were detected in any of the samples.
